Five on Friday Volume 22

December 9, 2016

Happy Friday! Today we’re celebrating the announcement Pantone’s Color of the Year “Greenery” by sharing five ways to incorporate this lovely shade in your space. But first, a brief explanation from Pantone: “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.”

On it’s own, it can be a pretty bold color to take over a room with- BUT there are plenty of beautiful accents to bring this color into your space.

If you want to go graphic without being too stark, this bold rug from West Elm is a great way to bring in some strong lines with your Greenery. The pattern is modern, but the green color way lends itself to more transitional style- it can work with just about anything!

We’re not the best green-thumbs ourselves, so we love the idea of this cactus tapestry to incorporate greenery without worrying about remembering to water anything. The watercolor style has a nice light artistic touch, and the tapestry style makes it easy to move around your home on a whim.

We love this different version of Greenery in a natural form. Agate has been HOT this year, it’s such a fun and luxe accent, and you can always mix up your bookcase style.

Another accent that’s had a big moment this year: the palm pillow. It may feel beachy, but we’ve seen it paired really beautifully with animal prints, buffalo checks, and stunning velvets. You don’t have to live near the coast to rock one of these beauties.

Trays are the perfect accessory for adding some style and helping maintain a little bit of order. Round up remotes, magazines, and coasters with this bright and happy tray- perfect for a pop of Greenery in the middle of your coffee table.

When you’re done here, make sure to check out Pantone’s entire page on Greenery for their gorgeous color pairings that truly make this trans-seasonal shade shine!

This next week we’ll be sharing tons of recently-finished projects, including our pool table base, closet-to-office renovation, and custom coffee table for some awesome clients.

Until then, have a great week!

Let's jump right into it, shall we? Last time we discussed our new custom cabinets: where they're going, why we need them, how we put them together, and how we use them. BUT, we didn't get to the crowning jewel: the handmade herringbone countertop. I … [Read More...]

Playing Pretend With a Girl’s Nursery

Baby Boy Muratet has been around for 2 months now, and we've got just a few finishing touches to go on his awesome nursery. (It's really just those last details- isn't the final 10% of a project the hardest to get done?) But, we've also got two … [Read More...]

We welcomed our little boy to the world on March 13th, and I've been working on a plan for his room for quite some time. Is it nearly done? Obviously not. But you know what? Newborns can't see past about 14 inches away for the first little while, so … [Read More...]
