Five On Friday Volume 16

October 14, 2016

Welcome to Five On Friday- One Room Challenge Edition #2! Whew- that was a bit of a mouthful. In case you missed last week, we’re participating in this fall’s One Room Challenge, and we’re tailoring each week’s Five on Friday to coincide with our project. This week we wanted to take a look at a couple of nautical-style rooms to get a little inspiration for our own bathroom project.

This whole apartment is stunning- but we especially love the bathroom. We love how fresh it feels with the classic white subway tiles and gorgeous velvety blue walls, but the best part are the fun touches of other materials. That brass sink base is incredible, and the wooden shelf brings a welcome touch of warmth and texture.

Sue de Chiara’s Connecticut home is such a treat, and we’re especially crazy for this bathroom . The bold (and incredible!) wallpaper is balanced so nicely with the bright white trim and vanity, and you know we’re all about that blue penny tile (you’ll have to click through to see the full-length photo). Preppy, nautical, and so. so. good.

You’ve likely seen this beautiful bathroom by designer Kirsten Marie all over Pinterest. We’re drawing a ton of inspiration from the navy vanity and brass details. It’s so crisp and cool, but not too trendy. We love how the playful floor tile is tempered with really grown up finishes for a gorgeous balanced feel.

The currently-ubiquitous shiplap makes a great detail in this bathroom featured by BHG. The blue vanity really steals the show here, and we love the addition of texture with the woven baskets and monogrammed towels. We’re especially digging the striped light reflected in that mirror!

We love how this room by Trio Design flipped the script by putting the blue accent at the bottom of the wall. That vanity is just incredibly beautiful, and that modern tub is so. great!

We’re hoping next week’s ORC update will be a huge transformation- so fingers’ crossed for a good productive week!

Custom Cabinets: The Dramatic Conclusion

Let's jump right into it, shall we? Last time we discussed our new custom cabinets: where they're going, why we need them, how we put them together, and how we use them. BUT, we didn't get to the crowning jewel: the handmade herringbone countertop. I … [Read More...]

Playing Pretend With a Girl’s Nursery

Baby Boy Muratet has been around for 2 months now, and we've got just a few finishing touches to go on his awesome nursery. (It's really just those last details- isn't the final 10% of a project the hardest to get done?) But, we've also got two … [Read More...]

Baby Muratet’s Nursery Plan

We welcomed our little boy to the world on March 13th, and I've been working on a plan for his room for quite some time. Is it nearly done? Obviously not. But you know what? Newborns can't see past about 14 inches away for the first little while, so … [Read More...]
