We’re in the mood for perusing real estate this week, so welcome to Five on Friday: Property Listings Edition!
If you’re looking to upgrade your home and have about $150 million to blow, check out the five most expensive homes for sale in the United States. The sheer size of each is pretty mind-blowing, it would take days to do a property tour! But if those seem like small potatoes, you could always go for the most expensive home in the world, listed for a paltry $1.1 billion. With a B.
If you’d love a good architecture-related laugh, you’ll be all about the Worst of McMansions blog. Their description of this sweet $1.5 mill place in Houston, Tx is a trip. Favorite line? “Apparently too busy looking at themselves to buy a rug of an appropriate size.” All good fun here.
Who knew Jan was so savvy? At age 11, Brady Bunch actress Eve Plumb purchased a Malibu oceanfront property for $55,300. Decades later, she sold it for $3.9 Million. A new, ultramodern residence designed by Meis Architects is in the plans for the property, but we have to say, we’re partial to the sweet blue bungalow that’s already there.
Would you buy a fully furnished house? This mid-century stunner in Dallas comes with all the trimmings. We’re not sure if it would ever truly feel like “home” full of someone else’s selections, but there sure are some enviable MCM pieces in this one. And we are definitely on board with that yard.
A very interesting turn for many “Fixer Upper” houses- a second life as vacation rentals. It doesn’t quite seem fair to advertise them as “Designed by C&J” if the owners haven’t maintained the original decor- we probably wouldn’t want our names attached either. But mostly, we feel duped by the family with the $25,000 house that they intended to turn into a daycare. What a bizarre situation.
Anyone taking a trip to Waco to check out the Magnolia empire? Or maybe saving your pennies for a BILLION dollar home? Or maybe just taking it easy and enjoying this cooler weather? That’s where we’ll be.
Have a great weekend!
