We’re not sure if you know, but there are lots of beautiful houses on the internet. Feel free to take a Pinterest break and check that out. We’ll be here.
It’s easy enough to appreciate a stunning home. But it can be paralyzing to turn inspiration into reality for your own space. We think that by starting with some basic tools- the elements and principles of design- you can create the home that truly suits you best. Because you should have the home that works for you. If your home makes you happy, that is LITERALLY.ALL.THAT.MATTERS. Your home should make you feel good. Period.
You can take an inspiration photo and understand what about it appeals to you- is it that you want to create a direct replication of that space? (Which is understandable, but we hope to help you put your own spin on something wonderful) Or are you just inherently pleased with the tone of the room, and how it makes you feel? Are you responding to the “effortless” (not a real thing) balance, the wild artistic gestures, or just that perfect shade of grey? (Which, by the way, is incredibly elusive) We want to share how to thoughtfully curate a home that speaks to you and your needs. (And maybe curate sounds like a really fancy word- but we think of it as taking the time to find things that matter to you and that build a balanced environment.)
And speaking of build- we’re pretty confident that you can do just about anything. Promise.
We want to share do-able projects that will help you solve problems we’ve encountered in our own homes.
We want to work with YOU on your home. You color-picking questions. You “where on earth do I start?”. Your design dilemmas- large and small. We’d love to help! As we continue to build steam and get things rolling, look for the launch of e-design here at J[M]V Style!
We’re also makers. We love to create beautiful things, and we can’t wait to share them with you! Look for graphic design and typography projects from Meredith, and furniture and small goods from Jen. We’re just itching to bring lovely things into your lives.
Thank you for stopping by- we’ll be sharing more introductory information and style soon!
